This cozy breakfast nook definitely has something for everyone with some Irish-inspired dishes, and a few surprising vegan options! A Little Farm-to-Table

ester valentines specials

You may have heard about the push for restaurants to source ingredients from local farms in order to create fresher, healthier meals. Lower Mills’ ester is taking it to the next level by using fresh ingredients from their rooftop garden. That’s right, this restaurant grows their own ingredients which are visible in menu items like “Rooftop Kale Salad” and item descriptions like “seasonal veggies.” They host thinktank Trivia on Wednesdays and have live music on Friday nights.

ester has a bunch of Valentine’s events planned! Check out their Sunday Love Yourself Brunch on 2/12, 3-course Sweetheart Dinner on 2/11 & 2/14, and their Puppy Love Fundraiser on 2/16.

Location: ester, 2261 Dorchester Ave, Dorchester MA

Leap into Shanti—Taste of India’s mouth-watering array of Indian classics, tandoori specialties, and Bangladeshi-style dishes. This restaurant has served the Dorchester community for about 12 years, and though they have added more locations, you’ll likely still find the owners serving customers. Fun Fact: “Shanti” means “peace” in Sanskrit. Shanti aims to bring you “to a more peaceful place,” with its blended cuisine and relaxing environment.

On Valentine’s Day, they are offering a “Special Dinner for Two” with a featured menu prepared by Chef Andy.

Location: Shanti, 1111 Dorchester Ave. Dorchester MA 02125 (locations in Roslindale and Cambridge, as well)
